Setting up Ecosystem / Error at Build Process

Post by schaeds » Fri Mar 18, 2016 9:42 am

Hi

I am currently setting up the Ecosystem for Red Pitaya, followed the instructions in
https://github.com/RedPitaya/RedPitaya/ ... /README.md

Unfortunately, I am getting errors during the build process:

Code: Select all

lib/asm-offsets.c:1:0: error: bad value (armv5) for -march= switch
 /*
 ^
make[2]: *** [lib/asm-offsets.s] Error 1
make[1]: *** [prepare0] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/opt/RedPitayaExt/tmp/u-boot-xlnx-xilinx-v2015.4'
make: *** [tmp/u-boot.elf] Error 2
Do you have an idea, what's the cause? Did I miss something?

Kind regards
Stefan

This typically happens when you don't have CROSS_COMPILER set or didn't initialize the Xilinx environment. Did you call ". settings.sh" before make ? This has to be done once each time you open a new shell for building.

Here are some more directions how to set up the environment, some of which are not mentioned in the README.

Thanks for your reply. It seem's that I have figured out the reason for the error.

There was something wrong with the permissions and rights of different folders and files.
I recursivley reset the the owenership for all relevant folders of the ecosystem. Now it worked smoothly.

Code: Select all

sudo chown -cR $USER:$USER /opt/
