How to SCPI from putty?

Post by herrmattoon » Thu Jun 23, 2016 8:18 am

Hi all,

I just received my RP and I want to play with leds, pins and xadc using SCPI commands with putty.

I disabled the two services conflicting with the SCPI server and started the SCPI one. After that, I type things like "DIG:PIN LED2, 1" but it tells "command not found". How do I tell in the command prompt that I want to send these chars to the SCPI server?

Thanks.

Best regards

Hi,

either you start a netcat session locally with "nc -k -C localhost 5000" on the console, or you start a second PuTTY and open a "raw" type connection to port 5000 on the RedPitaya's ip address. In both cases there will be no "redpitaya>" prompt, you can just start typing scpi commands. The session will last until you terminate nc with ctrl+c or close the raw PuTTY window.

Hi,

Both solutions work well. Thanks!
