Can't set trigger level above 1V.

Post by colmmoore » Tue Jun 28, 2016 2:30 pm

Hey there, I'm having trouble setting the trigger level higher than 1V

"ACQ:TRIG:LEV 1000 mV" works perfectly fine but "ACQ:TRIG:LEV 1001 mV" returns an error.

Anybody know what's causing this?

The nominal measuring range of the Red Pitaya in LV input configuration is +-1V. The samples are capped to that range, so what would be the sense in allowing a higher trigger level?

What about in HV mode? how high should I be able to measure then?

I fixed my problem. I had SOUR1 in HV mode and was wondering why I couldn't set the trigger level higher but SOUR2 was still in LV. When both are in HV mode, I can set it higher.

For anybody googling this in the future:

Code: Select all

ACQ:SOUR1:GAIN HV
ACQ:SOUR2:GAIN HV

ACQ:TRIG:LEV 5000 mV

+-20V is the HV input range.

edit:
Now that I examine setting of the trigger level, it is a bit odd how it's implemented to set both channels simultaneously. If you feel that this could be handled better, I'd totally agree.
