calScope 0.92.3 installation

Post by berndj » Mon Feb 27, 2017 3:07 pm

Hi
I am running into problems installing the calScope web-app through the market place.
When installing using the "install" button I don't get the feedback that it is installed. I also cannot see the app on the home page.
MCPHA for example works and I see the Uninstall button afterwards. as well as the app on the home page.

In the debug log I see the following message:

Code: Select all

Calling application: install

Bazaar install/remove: Received body: payload=%7B%22command%22%3A%22install%22%2C%22app_id%22%3A%22calscope%22%2C%22archive%22%3A%22http%3A%2F%2Fbazaar.redpitaya.com%2Farchives%2Fapps%2Fcalscope-0.92-3.zip%22%2C%22md5%22%3A%22eb1d676321ede0ba47805fd7c9db036b%22%2C%22token%22%3A%222c2b687ba7f39614ce450a8b1b46fc3c%22%7D

The system is a running 0.97-336.

One thing I noticed is that when I want to update it actually proposes a downgrade to 0.96.86. I have also tested this OS and failed with the same problem...

Thanks for any help or pointer to further information.

Best,

Bernd

The long and short of it is, applications that were built and last published for 0.92 or 0.93 OS versions do not function on OSes v0.94 and higher. The binaries are incompatible. If you have access to the sources, you can remake them for 0.94+, in most cases it is enough to add some boilerplate code required for the bazaar and recompile them for the new architecture.
