Hi,
I am relativly new to grc and sdrs.
My intention is to use together the gr fosphor rtsa block and the rp sinks/sources from pavel.
Next step would be implementing gr-mri, which is another oot module.
The easiest way so far was to use the windows installer from the official gr site, to get gr fosphor working.
When dowloading and using the transciever example file from pavel, python crashes on windows. Pavels example works well on a virtual machine running ubuntu. But i cant get fosphor working there. The same problem exists when installing ubuntu alongside windows (no working fosphor , some sort of opencl errors).
So far some time was invested to get things working... and learn process still continues
Does anyone have an idea how to get the rp blocks working on grc in windows?
Any help/alternatives is/are appreciated.

Re: GRC Windows/Ubuntu gr-fosphor + rp transciever
It's a known limitation of the socket.fileno() method in Python:When downloading and using the transceiver example file from Pavel, python crashes on windows.

I'd suggest to use the osmocom GNU Radio blocks:Does anyone have an idea how to get the rp blocks working on grc in windows?

To use them with the SDR transceiver application for Red Pitaya, the 'device arguments' parameters of the blocks should be set to the following string:
Code: Select all
redpitaya=192.168.1.100:1001
Both GNU Radio and osmocom GNU Radio blocks are bundled with the PothosSDR Windows installer:

As you just said that: The Osmocom Source / Sink are implemented in the official Win installer version from gnu radio.
it just works like off the shelf. Never thought it would be that easy.
i just needed to add the #1002 for the second adc /dac, and now dual channel also works fine. I just started to hate it and now i fall in love.
You are awesome pavel,
thank you
