Command line utilities bug in 0.95-1

Post by DVE » Sat Sep 10, 2016 5:10 pm

Hi all,
I've found a bug while testing command line commands in RP Pitaya OS 0.95-1.

After the system starts, any hardware related command (I tested "generate 1 1 10000000 sine" and "systemctl start redpitaya_scpi &") force device to strong freeze - only power reconnect helps.
But if I start and stop Signal generator in the web interface, after that all commands working good. It looks like, some hardware initialization is missing in command line tools.

My version was taken from here: http://pavel-demin.github.io/red-pitaya ... ecosystem/
Any ideas?

PS: And the second bug in the SCPI_commands_beta_release.pdf description btw - in DIG:PIN:DIR command the value should be OUT but not OUTP, as described.

When you are using Pavel's ecosystem, you should report errors you find in it on his github issues page. The "official" OS release 0.95 does not have this problem.

The cause of this errors is that the fpga bitstream that is loaded during boot in Pavel's ecosystem is not compatible with the scpi-server and other apps. When you start a web-app, the correct fpga bitstream will be loaded automatically, but when you want to use command line tools, you have to load it by hand (or have a web-app load it for you).
