Hello everyone, I wanted to know if the red pitaya SDRlab 122-16 can generate the external clock to start the operating system of a red pitaya SDRlab 122-16 external clock ? If possible, how would it be, thank you very much.

In short, no, it is currently not possible to generate a good external clock with an SDRlab 122-16.

The long version is that it is possible, but the clock supplied over the SATA connector would be messy, and you would not achieve the same results as with a good external clock or the internal oscillator.


What is possible is using the same external clock on two or more Red Pitaya boards so that they are synchronised. I would go with this approach if possible.
