resize sd card (4GB to 32GB)

There are two partitions on the downloadable image, but it is 4GB SD Card.
I would like to use a 32GB sd card. I have written the 4GB image to a 32GB image, but wonder if I can just extend it to the rest of the space or will I write over something?
