Just a follow-up question, can we use Vivado Lab Version, or do we need the full install? I'm trying to compile the complete system for the first time.

It seems Vivado Lab Edition has none of the tools that are required for building the system - neither the synthesis tools, nor the SDK.

You will need at least Vivado and the Xilinx SDK - Vivado HLS is not required.
