Adapt ongoing signal

Hi,
in my project, I plan to send an ongoing signal (e.g. a sine wave) via scpi to the fast analog output of the redpitaya. According to external triggers the signal shall change its amplitude or frequency. How can I realize that? Do you have any examples for me?
I am currently working with this arbitrary waveform example script but get artifacts (looks like step functions) in the signal.
