USB Cummunication instead Ethernet (for data acquisitions)

Hello,
I want to set up a USB communication between a RP board and a computer (windows) to transmit data and remove the Ethernet cable. I know this is possible by using the micro USB port with the UART bus, but I need a faster interface. There's a USB connector that is normally used to manage some devices like pen drives or WIFI dongles but nothing happens when it is wired to a PC.
I guess I should change the USB driver (on RP) to make the RP a USB device for the computer. Has anyone already succeed to do that? Any hint to start with ?
