compilation problem

Post by fromage » Mon Feb 16, 2015 7:05 pm

Hey community,
my last build tries failed, although the full build had worked before.
With the actual code copied from git I get the following error.

Code: Select all

make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/quasirio/RedPitaya/FPGA/release1/fpga'
cp release1/fpga/vivado/red_pitaya.sdk/SDK/SDK_Export/fsbl/Debug/fsbl.elf /home/quasirio/RedPitaya/build/memtest.elf
cp release1/fpga/vivado/red_pitaya.runs/impl_1/red_pitaya_top.bit /home/quasirio/RedPitaya/build/fpga.bit
cp: cannot stat ‘release1/fpga/vivado/red_pitaya.runs/impl_1/red_pitaya_top.bit’: No such file or directory
make[1]: *** [install] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/quasirio/RedPitaya/FPGA'
make: *** [build/fpga.bit] Error 2

real	3m27.752s
user	2m24.957s
sys	0m18.830s
I run the compilation by the following code:

Code: Select all

rm -rf RedPitaya && git clone https://github.com/RedPitaya/RedPitaya.git && cd R
edPitaya && source /opt/Xilinx/Vivado/2013.3/settings64.sh && export CROSS_COMPI
LE=arm-xilinx-eabi- && make

Are there any suggestions how to solve this?

Best Florian

Hi Florian,
Your build failed because the fpga bitstream was not found. When exactly did you try this the last time ?
(there was a bad commit in the public repo which made the fpga generation fail. It was active between Feb 10th, 16:30 and Feb 11th, 08:36)

I just verified that the current master has no problem with the fpga bitstream build.

If it is still failing with a fresh checkout, it would help if you could capture more - preferably all - of the output.

gzip: /home/quasirio/RedPitaya/OS/buildroot/buildroot-2014.02/dl/avahi-0.6.31.tar.gz: not in gzip format
tar: This does not look like a tar archive
tar: Exiting with failure status due to previous errors

This post probably applies to your situation, too.
