AWG buffer limitation

Post by adina » Fri Apr 03, 2015 3:58 pm

Hello,

I would like to make an AWG with a RedPitaya. The signal will be a sinewave who would imitate an engine startup, with an Amplitude of 1V at the beginning and after some ms an amplitude of1mV that will continue for 22min. My question is how can I bypass the limitation of the AWG buffer of 16383 samples?

Best regards,

Adina

You could "chase" the read pointer of the AWG (ch A: 0x40200014, ch B: 0x40200034) and write new samples into the buffer for the next iteration.

Code: Select all

read pointer
          |   ->
          v
0 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX 16383 AWG buffer
         ^
         |
write next value here
This works up to approx. 2MSps, limited by the buffer access latency.
