Hi,
I had a similar issue with the RedPitaya and SD cards.
The RP did boot up, console access worked, but logging indicated that mounting of /opt failed.
I ordered two Kingston micro SD cards, apparently class-4, 4GB size.
Neither card worked in both Red Pitayas. When I read this thread, I bought a cheaper 8GB, but Class-10 SD card. Copied the files, plugged it in, and it works almost perfect now!
Greetings,
Karel

Re: Stuck Boot
hey,
i made some research on micro SD cards :
- cheap low class 1 GB no data on speed class (not writen)
- middle class 4 GB speed class 2 (SanDisk HC)
- basic class 8 GB speed class 4 (Kingston HC)
- high class 32 GB speed class 10 (SanDisk Ultra)
formating them using Windows 7 to FAT32 and FAT formats, populated with th latest image returned positive results when connecting via SSH on ethernet connection from the computer to Red Pitaya.
Formating with Macintosh to MS DOS (FAT) also returned positive results.
"I ordered two Kingston micro SD cards, apparently class-4, 4GB size."
Where did you get the cards? I would asume they are fake or have malfunction...

Let me redirect you to this problem i had not long ago:
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=310
The problem seemed to be card related too, but it turned out that the ecosystem needed an update. Maybe try to update it from github?

Hi,
I ordered my first SD cards from RS online, together with my Red Pitayas:
http://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/secure-di ... s/6957321/
Neither worked in both RedPitaya's... Formatted using Win7 to FAT32, image was from may or june.
But alas, I'm happy now
Greetings,
Karel
