Starting in RedPitaya

Hello,

I am new to using Redpitaya board and have a confusion on which FPGA project that I need to use if I want to add my custom code. I want to to custom data acquisition and pass it on to the SD card by buffering it on DDR Ram using AXI DMA.

My question is do I need to modify one their projects redpitaya/fpga/prj/v0.94 or modify one of their examples to do the above task.

P:S I am using Redpitaya 125-14 board.
