device usable without redpitaya.com?

Hi, I'm interested in the product but I'm concerned about the apparent requirement for Internet access.
Can you point me to any document or other information about the possible consequences for setup(!) and usage of the device if no Internet access is available, or more precisely if the redpitaya.com website would become permanently unavailable?

Please note: I'm not looking for a discussion about the probability of either of these conditions to occur.

You can definitely operate redpitayas with www.pyrpl.org without any internet connection. Just need to download the software and SD card image once.
