OS Version trouble: 1.x only beta ?

I got the email about the new OS upgrade - excellent news ! However when I try to download "stable", I am getting the 0.98 version although the release notes are for 1.03. The same happens when I install 1.03 from the beta and try to update: The system offers me 0.98 as an "update".
Can someone please shed some light on this - or fix it ?
