Difficulty setting up PID controller?

Hello,
I have a control system designed in Simulink and would like to deploy it to an embedded system. My requirements are PWM out to control an ESC for a brushless motor, and to read a 10 bit analog voltage in.
For someone new without an electrical engineering background, how difficult would this be to implement on a Red Pitaya? I have some limited experience with Arduino, but not really with something like Raspberry Pi/Beaglebone/Etc.
