Embarrassing problem

Post by Pete.n4zr » Mon Dec 06, 2021 10:08 pm

I'm one of the founders of the Reverse Beacon Network, trying to prepare a brand-new 122-16 for shipment to a radio amateur in an underserved area. The board is fine - I have run it with the older SD card from my current, operating RP-16 but I am having trouble following the instructions on the web site to create a new card, beginning with those for connecting my new RP to my computer, using rp-xxxxxx.local. I am running Windows-10 Pro, and when I enter that address in either Chrome or Firefox, they insist on trying to look it up on the Internet. Obviously, there's a big gap in my user knowledge somewhere. Can someone help?

Are you using https or http ?

https moves out to google or any other search engine

But this works (for me) http://rp-f08a03.local/

Hi Pete,

To find out the IP address, plug the unit in your router then apply power to it.
Next go to the computer, open up a command prompt/ terminal window and use the ""arp -a""
command. This will show a list of devices in your network with IP 's and MAC addresses and now all you have to do it find the respective IP corresponding to the MAC address on the red pitaya board printed label .
