Stream server application / Aliasing

The stream server app has an option for choosing the streaming rate.
Does the software implement a digital anti-alias filter?
....Or is it necessary to use an appropriate anti-aliasing filter when sampling at lower rates?
(i.e., with cutoff below half the Nyquist frequency)
I am not sure how to access the source code to look for this information.
