Can anyone advise on whether damage or corrupt filesystem can arise as a result of turning power off before shutting the OS down? I have an application which could have this situation as a result of intermittent or random power loss.
any anecdotal evidence would be useful,
thanks,
Rob

Re: Cycling board Power
Since the linux distribution (apart from the kernel and some Red Pitaya-specific components) resides on the rw-mounted part of the sd-card, it is indeed possible to incur filesystem corruption when interrupting the power supply without shutting down the system first.
There have been one or two reports of such instances here on the forum, too. I have already suggested a shutdown-button on the web-gui for the next update to the Red Pitaya developers.
