Hi guys,
I am rather new to the RP community. I am trying to cat an example bit file to /dev/xdevcfg on a freshly updated RP, but I get the following response
"cat: write error: Connection timed out"
I have googled this already quite a bit and found several suggestions, none seem to help. Any suggestions? Thanks
best,
Dries

Hi Dries,
what's supposed to be in that example bitfile / how was it produced? I've never encountered that error myself.

I produced the bitfile following the example I found here http://antonpotocnik.com/?p=487360
But I get the same error when I try to configure the fpga with the stock bitfile using cat /opt/redpitaya/fpga/fpga_0.94.bit > /dev/xdevcfg

Re: xdevcfg timed out
What ecosystem version are you running? I can't reproduce the behaviour on the latest two releases.

Re: xdevcfg timed out
This is really annoying, but neither can I. Came to work this morning, plugged the RP in, tried it again and it works. If the problem comes back, I will try to post some diagnostics.
Thanks for your help!

I had that problem sometimes, and it seems to go away (for reasons I don't know) when I just reboot the linux on red pitaya.
