Auxillary Logic Levels

I noticed that the general purpose logic inputs/outputs are between 0 and 3.3V. Can I connect these ports to something that has a logic output of 0 and 5V? Will that damage the device?

All DIOx_y pins are LVCMOS33. abs. max. ratings are: min. –0.40V max. 3.3V + 0.55V <8 mA drive strength
