Hi everyone,
I'm currently working on a robotics project and want to use the StemLab 125-14 as central processing node. It should be connected to two remote nodes (up to 1 meter away), via serial link. The remote nodes are not implemented yet, but I plan to use a pure FPGA (or maybe just CPLD) based implementation for this. There should be as few wires as possible for this, therefore the connection should be done with a serial link. I want to use the SATA connectors for this.
The link should be able to send simple motion commands and receive sensor data.
For future developments, the high bandwidth of these connectors would be needed.
Has anyone an idea of a serial protocol, I can refer to for implementation?
Is there an industry standard protocol, that is supported by the StemLab SATA connectors?
What is the purpose of these connectors, what are they capable of?
Thank You very much!
