Can you adjust the spectrum analyzer range?

Post by wegunterjr » Sun Jun 28, 2015 3:30 am

Right now the spectrum analyzer is 60MHz, but it starts at zero...can we get ranges more like 2.4Ghz...we would like to use it to check out how the spectrum looks around our plant (we are away from town, but having issues with our spectrum).

Two possible solutions for looking at higher frequencies were posted by mrxfm in the "SDR (Software Defined Radio) Transceiver" thread of this forum:

According to the ADC documentation, its bandwidth is 750 MHz.

Looks like the only possible solution to look at 2.4 GHz with the Red Pitaya board is to use an external down-converter from 2.4 GHz to 0-60 MHz.

However, taking into account that there are already SDR transceivers that are designed to work at the GHz frequencies such as USRP B200, bladeRF x40, HackRF, UmTRX, I don't think that building any down-converter for the Red Pitaya board is a good idea.

Here is a link to an article comparing several SDR transceivers working at the GHz frequencies:
