Difficulty understanding the trigger

Post by rp13 » Fri Aug 09, 2019 1:50 pm

Hi I am relatively new to using red pitaya and SCPI. I'm not fully sure if I understand the trigger. I am trying simultaneous sampling on both channels. Is it that once rp('ACQ:START') is ran that the rp will wait for the trigger and then take 16384 samples after the trigger? Or does it only take one sample per trigger and triggers 16384 times...I know this might seem like a trivial question but it has been bugging me.

Also, will it include data in the sample below the threshold as well? Say I set rp('ACQ:TRIG:LEV 350mV'). Will it only take data above 350mV?

Lastly, if I set the trigger source as the first channel, will the second channel start taking data along with the first channel as soon as the rp is triggered? I am assuming this is what happens...

Sorry for the paragraph!

The delay mentioned in the documentation is important:
